Are You Called Into Marketplace Ministry & What Is It Anyways?

“Marketplace Ministry” is a term often used to describe sharing Christ in the secular workplace.  There have been many articles and research around attempting to show business leaders how to implement such strategies.  I have often wondered why we can’t all behave as Christians 24/7?  I love “Lifestyle Christianity Church”, they nailed the term when naming their ministry.  Should Christianity be a lifestyle?  Jesus has given us all we need through his teachings on how to become his disciples and how we should operate in the business world.

Let’s take a look at a few examples:

Isaiah 44:6 – God is the CEO and Master over your life and business.  “I am the First and I am the Last; besides Me there is no God.”

Leviticus 25:14 – If you make a sale to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor, you shall not wrong one another.

Romans 12:19 – Don’t try and retaliate against your offenders and those peers who try to take credit for your work or gossip about you.  God is your protector and vindicator

John 14:27 – Climbing the corporate ladder or ascending in the marketplace to gain more money will not make you happy or give you peace.  Only the love of God through Christ can give you peace, joy, and happiness.

Ephesians 4:1; 2:10 – God foreordained, predetermined, preselected, and prepared his purpose for all of us even before he created the world.

1 Corinthians 12:5 – “there are differences in ministries, but the same Lord”.  Your business is part of your ministry.

God predestined his business leaders.  Reading and learning to understand how to align your business plan and life with God’s purpose is a good indication that you are one of his chosen ambassadors in the marketplace.

Your business ministry can be a powerful vehicle for glorifying God and blessing others who you can bring closer to God.  Let’s remember that we are Christians 24 hours a day and we need to be intentional with the way we spend our time we have left.  He created you for his purpose so let’s not let any opportunity bypass us.

Our business ventures should not only start with a great idea but a divinely inspired idea.  Marketplace ministry is not just a means for achieving professional and financial goals but a platform for advancing God’s kingdom.  Come join our Biblical Business Women Cohorts, you were not meant to take this journey alone.

Remember, the battle is not yours!  In the business world we will face adversity. Companies are sued by employees, business owners must file for bankruptcy, and jobs become jeopardized.  The list for these unforeseen unfortunate situations goes on and on.

“Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you”. (Psalm 55:22). We as Christians have the power of the Most High God living within us.  Do not worry or fear commercial threats of any type.

Intentionally His,

Margaret
